WTI was consulted to design, fabricate, and install a furnace for production of large UV crystals for use in solar blind optics. The end-use requirements impose very stringent conditions on the crystal growth process, particularly on the allowable temperature variations in the crystal during growth as well as cool-down to room temperature. WTI developed a Simulator for this process utilizing numerical modeling, and used the Simulator to optimize the size of various components in the furnace.... The result was the complete electrical and mechanical design of a custom six-heater furnace which was then fabricated and installed at our client's facilities.  more
innovating
Watring Technologies, Inc. was contacted by an inventor of a next-generation structural material for industrial and aerospace applications. The customer wanted to scale up their R&D operation to manufacture the advanced material on a commercial scale. We developed a Simulator for this process, and used the Simulator to optimize the batch processing furnace required to meet their thermal requirements and production rates. We then designed, built, fabricated, tested, and installed the furnace ...in their facilities. This furnace allowed our client to meet their production rates. WTI has also provided expertise in the areas of: Physical Vapor Transport, Chemical Vapor Transport, Czochralski LEC, Vertical/Horizontal Bridgman, Magnetic Melt Stabilization Systems, Gradient Freeze, Post Growth Annealing, Traveling Heater Method, WEB/Ribbon Growth, Thin Films, and Crucible Designs.  more
delivering
A leading manufacturer of optical components asked Watring Technologies, Inc. to automate their production process. Their existing set up involved a process where only one component could be cast at a time. WTI designed, built and installed an automatic processing furnace which could melt, pour, cast, and post anneal their product. This increased the quality and production rate of their material. WTI has also supported similar efforts on Batch Processing, Continuous Processing, Annealing Furnace...s, Brazing Furnaces, Casting Furnaces, Pouring Furnaces, Hot Pressing Applications, and Graphite Heaters.  more
